Our Story
Fourteen years ago, Durga was keen to explore a new technology that made water from the air. Few experiments were done and few machines were installed but the idea was too early to take forward to implement large scale solutions to meet the need for water. The country still heavily relied on wells, bubble tops and water from the corporation.
As the whole city of Chennai reeled under the floods in 2015, there was a severe drinking water shortage which paved the way for the next invention. Deriving inspiration from the desert beetles, the technology behind Aeronero bio-mimicked the concept and developed the first prototype of the atmospheric water generator, that created water from humidity in the air.
The Concept of Atmospheric Water Generation is not new, however, the Innovative Technology of the Aeronero machines is quite unique. The Technology is unique in the efficiency, capacity, cost, filtration system, minerals cartridges as well as the variation in the climate and geographic areas that it can be in.
In 2018, Durga along with Dr. Kumar together to implement pilots across the country to gather data and build efficiencies in the solution. Come March of 2019 they came together to form Aeronero, a for profit social enterprise to bring to the world solutions that are affordable and sustainable. Enabling independence has been the aim of every invention so far and Aeronero has kept that promise, removing the need for any external source of water.

Born in India and living and working in Silicon Valley for twenty plus years in technology inculcated in me the desire and passion to give back. I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. Water is capable of creation and destruction. Humanity has depleted the source of groundwater with carelessness and irresponsibility. I wanted to cause a change. Aeronero is a social enterprise that will continually innovate and work on technologies and solutions that will deliver mankind from water-related issues.

Advisor
Anil Arcalgud is an experienced executive having held leadership roles in different business and functional domains. Arcalgud is currently engaged as a board member for Sagiliti, Inc., a company focused on energy use and sustainable utility capability management for buildings.
Arcalgud most recently retired after a distinguished career of 13.5 years from Ecolab, Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources. Arcalgud’s career with Ecolab included five successful years as the executive vice president and chief information officer for Ecolab Inc. Arcalgud also established and led Ecolab’s Global Business Services function, responsible for its strategy formulation, roadmap planning and service execution globally across all divisions of Ecolab.
Arcalgud joined Ecolab in 2009 after a 13-year career with Motorola, where he served in a number of leadership roles in finance and technology within the company. Prior to Motorola, Arcalgud worked in finance and business advisory for more than eight years with for Price Waterhouse-Coopers and ANC Co.
Arcalgud holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics from St. Joseph’s College in Bangalore, India. He is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Arcalgud serves on the board and as a finance committee member for Genesys-Works (a nonprofit engaged in actively expanding career pathways and opportunities for youth from underserved communities).

Finance
Sridhar is a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant and a Resolution professional, with over 24 years of experience in Finance, Taxation, Strategy and management reporting. Sridhar’s core experience is in managing commercial transaction structuring to minimise regulatory costs and liaising with tax (Direct and indirect) authorities for assessments and exemption related benefits. He specialises in corporate strategy which ensures effective decision making and facilitates critical business decisions.
His rich stints at Reliance ADAG India, Landmark group (Dubai) , UMW (Malaysia) enables him to handle arbitration issues as well as in acquisition and takeovers besides setting up controls in a start-up environment. His experience in fund raising which includes preparation and validation of Business plans, with the Systematix group (Class I merchant bankers), helps advising several of his clients. He has helped clients achieve a better credit rating through sound financial advice and planning. He has experience in handling green field projects in the manufacturing space.
He has been handling complex CFO profiles & business turnarounds since 2011 for clients across Retail, Manufacturing and Technology space.
He is a member of the Institute of Chartered accountants of India (ICAI) and the Indian Institute of Insolvency professionals (IIIPI).
Strategy
Over two and a half decades of a successful corporate career,a business leader, Shekar has worked across a range of functions covering sales, operations, finance, projects and supply chain. His work experience also covers a wide range of industries like Airlines, Automotive, Agriculture, Consumer Goods, Outsourcing, Retail, Technology and Telecom.
He has trained extensively and effectively used several management concepts starting from the Japanese manufacturing techniques of TQM, Kaizen, 5S, SMED etc to Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Ford’s Q1 and TOPS (team oriented problem solving); Value Engineering, Value Stream Mapping, Franklin Covey’s 4 Disciplines of Execution and so on.
Shekar was the Business Head of the Auto Parts Aftermarket for TVS, which involved the Retailing and Distribution of Automotive Spare Parts in India, including its own Private label brand. Prior to that, Shekar conceived, established, developed and managed the Financial Shared Services organisation for Nokia globally, delivering best in class services at a cost better than the Industry.
Shekar has managed Sourcing, Procurement and Supply Chain organizations regionally and globally, both at Nokia and Intel. At Intel, Shekar formulated, developed and drove the IT outsourcing program successfully at a time when the Indian IT industry was still nascent. Shekar also has a unique experience as the core team member of Ford Motor Co which set up the 300 acre greenfield manufacturing facility at Chennai. Shekar started his career with Eicher where he trained on manufacturing engineering concepts and worked both at the tractor gear business unit and later at Royal Enfield (which was acquired by Eicher).

Suresh spent the last 18 years boot-strapping several start-ups and building them up as profitable organizations with multimillion dollar sales revenues. He brings proven abilities in developing sales potential in new market areas, and creating key alliances and partnerships.
He spent 15 years with the SSI Group, where he headed their US operations which included: Clientsoft, SSI Technologies and Aptech Worldwide Corporation. A graduate of Loyola College, India, Suresh obtained his Master’s degree in Management from Annamalai University, India. He is highly experienced in Business Development, Business Strategy, Strategic Alliances, Business Process Improvement, Branding, Outsourcing, Organizational Development, Competitive Analysis, and Mergers and Acquisitions.

An air conditioning expert with an experience of over 23 years and with specific experience in Air Water generators from 2008 till date. Pioneer in AWG technology in India. A continuous innovator who takes any problem statement and applies his tremendous experience to finding solutions. His prior experience includes Akash Ganga in AWG technology, work in Riyadh and Dubai for several years. His experience includes, AWG technology, Refrigeration, deep freezers and cold Storage.
Manager Operations
Goutham has been a part of the core team since inception of Aeronero. A Bachelor of Technology in Petroleum Refining and Petrochemicals and an experience across a broad range of management functions and varied industry segment, Goutham has proven ability to combine vision, ingenuity and strong process acumen with well-developed project management and leadership quality to support.
His areas of expertise include Research and development, Project management, Procurement, Strategic business development and Logistics/ supply chain management. He has been a Cadet Senior Under Officer in NCC Army Senior Division, 2012-2013 and a Logistics lead for Chemfluence, a national level technical symposium, March 2014
